Coconut Cake
IMA (A recipe from Tiky’s Mother, Najiba Aviva.)
Dough
1½ cups water
1 cup sugar
10 tsp cocoa powder
1 (full) tsp baking powder
1 stick softened margarine
Mix all these ingredients together and take out one cup of the mixture and put aside.
Then mix the rest of the ingredients left in the bowl with 1½ cups of flour and 6 egg yolks. In a separate bowl, beat together the egg whites with 1 cup of sugar and 3 cups of coconut; then fold that mixture into the previous bowl with the margarine and cocoa mixture to form the dough. Put the dough in a baking pan and on top, pour the mixture (from the cup you set aside earlier). Bake for 20 minutes at 300 degrees.
